3 Tips To Get Ready For ASB Elections

Are you a student? ASB elections are fast approaching and it’s important to get ready. Here at ASB, we want to make sure that our students have all of the necessary information before they cast their vote on who they think should be the next ASB representative. In this article, we will discuss some key points that can help you prepare for ASB elections.

The first key point is to make sure you’re registered to vote. ASB elections are held every year in March, but if your school is holding them sooner than that it’s important to be prepared and know about ASB early on so you can register as soon as possible.

The second key point we want to discuss is the importance of knowing who the candidates are and what they stand for before voting. To do this, ASB representatives will host a number of different events at their respective schools during ASB campaign season which includes:

  • Candidate forums – where all candidates get together and answer questions from students
  • School visits – where candidates go around their campuses meeting with students one on one or speaking in small groups about why they wish to run for office
  • ASB open houses – where candidates will set up booths in the ASB office and answer any questions students may have about ASBs, elections, or their candidacy.

By taking part in these events, not only are you making an informed decision when voting but also showing your support for ASB by engaging with them during election season.

The third point we want to discuss is how important it is to vote before ASB campaign week starts! If you don’t know what campaign week means, this roughly takes place between two weeks before the official ASB Elections start date (which ends that Friday). During this time all student groups will hold ASB Elections where they will try to convince students that their group is the best and deserves your vote.

This should include a good closing sentence about getting involved in ASBs, engaging with ASB events during election season

People interested in participating in ASB events throughout the school year should definitely consider getting involved during ASBs elections because all of this excitement happens right before summer break kicks off!
