ACH Helmet – About The Advanced Combat Helmet

About ACH Helmet, the Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH helmet) was designed and built by the United States Army, with some smaller equipment companies. This is not your daddy’s Humvee! This is a full-face helmet that covers your entire head, except for the eyes. It also includes back support and comes with a variety of interchangeable visors or goggles. The Advanced Combat Helmet is an actual helmet that has been used by the United States military since the mid-1990s, although it was replaced in some instances by the Improved Battle Helmet.

The Primary Purpose of ACH Helmet, the primary purpose of this advanced combat helmet was to better protect the troops when they were hit by hand-to-hand combat. The new helmet incorporated many more features that helped protect troops from other battlefield injuries as well.

Tactical and Standard Helmets

As mentioned above, the Advanced Combat Helmet was initially designed to be used on the battlefield. However, many US forces have now switched to standard tactical helmets. In this case, both tactical and standard are available. They have the same functions and are made of the same materials, such as carbon fiber, Kevlar, and polycarbonate. Although all three are lightweight and comfortable, the carbon fiber and Kevlar models are generally preferred for their color options.

Night Vision

One of the unique features of these tactical helmets is night vision capability. Although this is optional on a majority of the models, if yours does have it, you will be happy to know that night vision technology impacts many aspects of these models. For example, there are bright-colored visors that are illuminated and visible at night. There are also different options for the extra padding that goes over the top of your head. Some offer a full face mask that covers your entire face. If that is not enough to help your see in low light environments, there are also flip-up visors that allow you to fully adjust it to ensure that it is at your eye level.

Advanced Combat Helmet also has a feature that allows users to adjust its strap in three different angles, either forward or backward. This is a handy feature when you are faced with situations where getting a good look at your weapon is critical, such as during rifle threats. In addition to the adjustable strap, some of these helmets even have built-in light sources so you can see in low-light environments.
