Joe’s Crab Shack is near me, but I’ve always driven past until recently. The other day I stopped and went in to order lunch. I’m so sorry that I waited until last week to try the food at Joe’s Crab Shack. I absolutely loved it.
For years, I’ve been a fan of crab cakes, but it never occurred to me to go the Joe’s Crab Shack. I guess it’s because I rarely go out to a restaurant and eat. I was very impressed by the taste of the food, and I was astonished by the serving sizes. They are quite generous considering the moderate prices.
Steam Pots
If you are really hungry, going to Joe’s Crab Shack could be exciting if you pick the Lobster Daddy Feast or the Artic Steam Pot. The Lobster Daddy feast features a whole cooked Maine lobster, a serving of snow crab, new potatoes and hush puppies. The Lobster Daddy feast runs around $33.49. From the oohs and aahs followed by burps that I heard from the surrounding diners who ordered this dish, I could only assume it was delicious.
The Arctic Bay is a steam pot that has a whole cooked lobster, crab pieces, several shrimp, and several whole potatoes along with one piece of corn on the cob. This apparently tasty dish cost $30.99.
I love hot stuff, so I ordered the Rajin Cajun Steam Pot, which included about a pound of Dungeness crab, shrimp, Andouille sausage, red new potatoes and one piece of corn on the cob. It was seasoned with a delicious blend of Cajun hot herbs and spices. I can vouch for this dish. It was tasty without burning up my tongue or my insides. I was priced at $28.49. Believe me, it was more than enough food for one hungry person. I had leftovers the next day. Yummy!
Meat
Perhaps you believe the only food you can get at Joe’s Crab Shack is seafood. You’d be wrong. Meat lovers can buy a burger that looks awesome. The All American burger is Angus beef with onions, bacon and cheddar cheese on a potato bun. It cost $9.99 for the sandwich only
Appetizers
Naturally, you’ll want to try an appetizer while you’re waiting for your meal to arrive. Joe’s Crab Shack prices for appetizers are very reasonable and they offer a wide variety of choices: peel n’ eat shrimp, crab nachos, crispy calamari, crab stuffed mushrooms, voodoo bites, crab dip and mozzarella sticks, just to give you an example. The prices for appetizers range from $8.69 to $16.49 and they can temporarily satiate at least two people.
