Anjelah Johnson
One of the best and funniest clean comedians is Anjelah Johnson. She has starred in such films as Enough Said, Mom’s Night Out, ALVIN, AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE SQUEAKQUEL, and OUR FAMILY WEDDING. She is also known for her viral video “Nail Salon,” which pokes fun at the peculiar experience of getting a manicure.
The video garnered more than 34 million views on YouTube. But Johnson’s run on MADtv as Bon Qui Qui truly catapulted her to the top of the comedy world. In this role, she played a ghetto-fabulous fast food worker with no filter.
Jim Gaffigan
When it comes to best clean comedians, Jim Gaffigan is a household name. His comedy is family-friendly, and he often discusses topics such as sex, food, and fatherhood. He has three books and nine comedy specials to his credit, and he’s one of the most popular standup comedians today.
He’s been known to drop a few F-bombs occasionally, but he also avoids them on stage. But, of course, he’s not the only clean comic who avoids swearing. Another lesser-known clean comedian is Anjelah Johnson.
Though he’s a devout Catholic, Gaffigan isn’t afraid to poke fun at his faith. He is so open about his faith that he’s even earned Catholic approval.
Ron G
Ron G is a multi-talented, award-winning comedian and actor. He started in Atlanta, Georgia, before relocating to Los Angeles to further his career. He has appeared in many TV shows and movies. He has also won several awards, including NBC’s Stand Up for Diversity award.
Aside from a successful standup career, he’s also a writer, producer, and actor. His notable films include 2 Minutes of Fame, Key & Peele, Mulaney, and the Kevin Hart movie The Next Level.
Gary Burbank
Burbank is one of the most successful radio personalities in the country. His show is syndicated nationwide and has been on XM Satellite Radio Channel 173. After retiring from WLW, he will continue to do two-minute weekday Pitts bits on the station.
Earl Pitts is a character introduced in Burbank’s “The Broad-bank Burb-casting Corporation” in the early 1980s. Pitts is a full-blooded redneck who enjoys hunting and sharing his opinion on everything. He is as relevant today as he was twenty years ago.
Kellen Erskine
One of the triumvirates of clean comedians, Kellen Erskine, is a man of many talents. He has appeared on some of the best television shows and performed in some of the hottest venues. His notable appearances include Comedy Central, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.
In addition to his standup performance, Kellen has many other pursuits, including his role as a co-host on the Dry Bar Comedy podcast. This may be his primary gig, but he’s also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
