Are too bulky for a belt
If your materials are quite bulky, it may not be feasible to use a belt conveyor system. That’s because bulky materials such as metals can quickly wear out a belt system. Most will wear out the belt itself and overwhelm the motors powering the movement. This is because belt systems are designed for lighter duties. If the materials you’re handling are too bulky to be loaded on a rubber belt, try industrial vibrators and metal bins. The bins are strong enough and will not require regular maintenance.
Are heated (temperature-wise)
In some cases, materials have to be handled when hot. This is the case when dealing with sand, coal or ceramics. If your company deals with heated materials, there is no way you can use rubber belts to transport them along the processing line. The heated materials would simply burn a hole through the rubber. Instead, bins and vibrators are more practical and durable.
Need to be transported upwards
Another scenario that renders industrial vibrators ideal for your material handling needs is where your goods need to be transported upwards. Belts, due to their smooth surface cannot accomplish this. The materials in question would simply slide down due to gravity and a lack of traction. On the other hand, escalating metal containers powered by vibrators can do the trick. The vibrators push the materials into the containers and the containers rotate up to move the materials along.
Tend to adhere to the conveying surface
You should also opt for vibrators if the materials you’re dealing with on your conveyor system tend to adhere to the surface of the belt. A good example for this is fine sand or flour. On a belt, these materials will stick to the surface and clog the system. However, if you use vibrators, the vibrations will ensure that the materials do not stick to the sides at any one time.
