It is an occasion that should stay in the memory for ever, so it needs to be something extra special. Of course the wedding is officially the big day and brides especially want that to be perfect; but for grooms-to-be, the bucks party needs to be just as close to perfection too, but probably in a completely opposite way!
Traditionally, the responsibility falls on the best man to organize the day out, the night’s entertainment, the weekend destination, or in extreme cases… the week away! However, the more modern bucks parties have input from all the main players, including the groom. Whilst the tried and tested gathering of the lads for a messy booze up, still has a lot of support, for many, such an evening would not be anything particularly out of the ordinary.
When it comes to bucks party ideas Sydney certainly isn’t lacking in imagination. With the City’s amazing coastline to take advantage of, then a day or night boat cruise creates a fabulous way to celebrate the forthcoming nuptials. Stock up the bar, stick a roulette wheel, or black jack table on board, invite some “entertainment” along for the journey and it should be a night to remember. Staying on the water theme, if the cruise idea is a little too wild, then maybe consider a group of the boys taking themselves off on a fishing trip. It might sound a little dull, but what happens on the fishing trip… stays on the fishing trip!
Definite winners for bucks parties are dual location events, especially when combining an initial adrenalin rusher such as go-karting or paint balling, with a trip to a brewery. In Sydney there are some absolutely thrilling karting tracks which cater for such parties, and also devise individual and team competitions, based around it. Naturally the loser has to take on some horrendous drinking challenges once the group hits the brewery. Likewise the paint ball locations love to encourage an edge to proceedings with their team situations, which again should result in some fearsome forfeits once the drinks start to flow.
Another favourite is a trip to a comedy club, where the groom is sure to be the butt of many of the jokes and the subject of some near the knuckle sing-songs. Naturally, should finances and bride-to-be allow it, then all of the above can be enjoyed, over a weekend, or several days; but preferably still leaving plenty of time to recover, before the actual ceremony.
