Why use Neurofeedback Training?
Neurofeedback helps when there is an imbalance in the brain from your regular brain emotions and effects everything you feel and do especially if it is chronic emotions that affect day to day life.
Using biofeedback from your brain waves to re-train your brain’s activity using neurofeedback is how it all works.
Brainwaves are just electrical pulses used by your brain to communicate on a cellular level from cell to cell and controls or tells us a lot about:
- the functionality of the brain
- moods and any underlying changes within those moods
- levels of stress you might be going through
- how you are functioning and feeling
- though habits
Symptoms that show a rise in specific activity are picked up by using sensors on the scalp and using QEEG brain map, a software analysis scheme developed to measure and monitor this brainwave activity
Once one of these brain mapping tests has been run and doctors figure out what and where the problem is they set up a training plan to re-instate the brain back to normal a state as possible using Neurofeedback Training.
Using the format of a video game, movie and or music the neurofeedback forms part of a positive response feedback system by a computer when your brain returns to what is known as a more comfortable state which is done by comparing what you brain doing compared to what you want it to do during the Neurofeedback Training session
The sound of the music or playing of the movie acts as an indicator as to which way the brain is moving, utilizing, if going into the right direction of the comfortable state the music or movie plays on but will stop if it moves away from the required state of comfort.
Using a system called neuroplasticity, it is exercising the brain. like my other muscle repetition and exercise are good for the brain.
Costing for this treatment can range from $7000 and upwards
The equipment needed and used to assist each patient is easy to source and set up for their needs whenever needed.
So far the benefits of Neurofeedback Training have been:
- enhanced focus and memory
- mental clarity on the increase
- decreased anxiety and impulsiveness
- a greater mood improvement
- sleep that is less restless
Is this considered safe or have any side effects:
Most patients undergo this treatment when they have an underlying brain malfunction of head trauma injury and though some patients might complain of minor side effects like nausea, light sensitivity, and dizziness as the brain tries to reset itself and re-regulate the normal brain function but it is not usually for long periods and disappears by the time the patient gets back home.
